What I Am Reading January Edition

A new year, means a new reading list. This year, I did not set a specific goal for reading, but given as I went a little nuts with my reading last year, I formed a pretty good habit. January is off to a great start, so here is what is on my January Reading List!

If it Ain’t Broke…Break It!: And Other Unconventional Wisdom for a Changing Business World – Robert J. Kriegel

I love this book – even though it was published in 1992, the advice and ideas are still very current. If you find yourself in a job you think finds the definition of “business as usual” this book will help you get unstuck and challenge you to think outside of the box. This is a practical, entertaining read, free from fluff, and loaded with excellent tips and strategies to more successful in creative ways.

What Is Your WHAT: Discover The One Amazing Thing You Were Born To Do – Steve Olsher

This is more of a step by step guide and work book than a hardcover book of theory.  I’d say this is a must for anyone looking to create a clear understanding of what their unique contribution is to the world. The book is separated into three sections: Establish the Foundation; Realize Permanent, Positive Change; and Become Who You Were Born to Be.  Each chapter has a summary with takeaways, and all throughout the book are worksheets to complete as you read.

Oh, and it is currently available as an opt-in on http://WhatisYourWhat.com (but you will probably still want the hardcover!)

Shorten The Gap – Short Cuts to Success and Happiness – Mark A. Lack

This book is a steal at $7.95 on Amazon.com, and is an excellent collection of the shortcuts to success. Now the truth is, “shortcut” is a bit misleading – these are actually direct paths, as there are no true shortcuts. Mark provides a very accessible account of the lessons he has learned and applied so successfully in his life.

So that is my reading list for January, what are you reading now?
